I was delighted to see this group [1st Swanton Morley]advertised on the internet. I was a member of the troop between 1963 and 1966 (shock horror) and actually designed the troop badge [click here]as part of my "Artists Badge", I was probably 9 at the time and therefore am delighted to see it still in use today, 40 years later. The idea for the badge came from the West Dooor of All Saints Church Swanton Morley where you will see a "Swan" and a "Ton" (the old name for a barrel). I was born in Swanton Morley at "Merryfield", the house that my parents built almost opposite "The Angel" pub. My father (Tony Brown) died in 1977 and is buried close to the door of the Church. My mother (Mary Brown) was the Deputy Head of the Swanton Morley Primary School for many years and she still lives in Dereham. I actually work in Basel (Switzerland) but do get back to Swanton Morley now and again. It was wonderful to get all these memories from your website.
